The modern American workforce has done a pretty good job of predicting and addressing the most common threats to worker safety. Certainly accidents happen and in some industries they are more prevalent than others. That being said, the past 100 years has been virtual revolution for worker safety. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration for the expressed purpose “to save lives, prevent injuries and protect the health of America’s workers.” OSHA, as the are more commonly called, is serious about its mission. To run afoul of OSHA as an employer is to gift yourself a really bad day. However, to watch one of your employees suffer injury that could have been prevented is the worst. You know about many of the threats facing your team and yet, it is the threats you have yet to foresee that keep you up at night.
OSHA might have taken its mission quite seriously, but they did stop short of mandating every safety recommendation down to the letter. For instance, their standards don’t mandate certain colors be used on accident prevent tags, but they do recommend a specific color scheme. Red means danger, yellow means caution and orange means warning if they were to have their way. What they do ask for is consistency within an organization. This means that an employee should be able to understand a purple tag and recognize it as nothing other than its intended purpose wherever it might be in the facility. This brings us to our selection of All Purpose Safety Tags.
Here, we offer enough generic tags to allow you to customize your warning system with the color code of your choice. Certainly we have all the OSHA recommended color codes of red, yellow, and orange. However, if you want to warn you employees with a little flare and the color pink then we’ve got you covered. On top of that versatility, we also standard templates as a Danger Safety Tag or a Caution Safety Tag with the information pre-printed. All you have to do is add your information to it and voila, you’re ready to operate in safety.
Beyond color, the next thing you want to look for in a tag is durability. American industry runs on grit, grease, chemicals and extremes in temperature. Any tag has to hold up under that standard and our tags excel in the harshest of environments. For starters, they are reinforced with a ⅜ metal grommet which has a pull strength that well exceeds OSHA’s 50 pound requirement. Then, the tag is UV protected and encapsulated in rigid PVC with provides a durable hard-matte finish. In the end, you’ve got a tag you can fully customize and fully rely on when it matters most.
This is about addressing the threats for which you are very aware, but also for addressing the threats no one has thought of yet. You’ll have the ability to tag it and warn others when they precarious scenario reveals itself.
