In many industrial zones and factories, employers are required by law to establish and implement a lockout/tagout program as mandated by OSHA. Workers performing service or maintenance on machinery and equipment may be exposed to injuries from the unexpected energy, start up of the machinery or equipment, or release of stored energy in the equipment. The purpose of this program is to raise awareness of workplace safety and prevent accidents and injuries from occurring on the job.

The Lockout/Tagout procedure requires the adoption and implementation of safety practices and procedures to shut down equipment, isolate it from its energy source, and prevent the release of potentially hazardous energy while maintenance and servicing activities are being performed.The Lockout/Tagout precedure contains minimum performance requirements, and definitive criteria for establishing an effective program for the control of hazardous energy. However, employers are allowed to have the flexibility to develop lockout/tagout programs that are suitable for their respective facilities. 

Designed to comply with OSHA’s safety regulations, label lockout hasps include tagout identification for multiple workers. Each hasp features an easy-to-apply 'snap-on' advantage with its spring-loaded locking arm.  These lockout hasps fit more lockout points than alternative rivet-hinge labeled lockout hasps. They are made from anodized aluminum and stainless steel construction for combined corrosion-resistance and strength. Complete with high visibility, the label lockout hasps are reusable and can be rewritten to identify the responsible person, and then be erased for the next job. Each label lockout hasp is designed to hold up to 5 padlocks.

Constructed from tough 5052 anodized aluminum alloy with tamperproof locking tabs, these hasps are impossible to remove while the locks are still in place. The front and back of the hasp contains write on surface that accepts pen, pencil, or permanent marker. Pen and pencil markings can be easily erased therefore allowing for repeated use in the facility. The hasp has 6 lock holes, which are 5/16" diameter. These units come in a package of 5 with blue coloring.
